Should Money be Your Only Purpose?

Money is an outcome, and should not be your only purpose.  If your purpose is to reach $1 billion in sales, double revenue by 2020, or be the largest and most profitable you may want to make this a goal and not a purpose.

Money as a driver can lead to outcomes like the financial crisis of 2009 and even put you in jail.  Think of your purpose as an outcome that will help others gain things other than money.   People are looking for a transcendent purpose that inspires.

“Healing Humanity”, “A Legacy for Life” or “Culture in Every Company” are purposes people can stand behind.  A great purpose can get you better talent, retention and yes, money.  So, bottom line, work on your purpose and make it public.
